CORONA TREATMENT - 3 D PARTS:           

        

Purpose built corona treatment systems for 3D parts.

The low surface energy of polymer-based substrates often leads to poor adhesion of inks, glues and coatings. To obtain optimum adhesion, it is necessary to increase the surface energy of the substrate to just above that of the material to be applied. Surface Treatment with Corona results in good wetting of the material over the surface of the substrate and so improves adhesion. The Dyne Technology supplied RotoTEC corona treating unit offers a cost-effective method for optimising the adhesion properties of printing inks and coatings onto made from low surface energy polymers such as polypropylene and polyethylene.

This universal corona treatment system for 3D parts developed by Tantec operates with special rotating corona electrode elements resulting in complete and uniform corona treatment of the parts.

These self-contained corona treating units can be installed within existing production lines or used as an off-line process. The system includes High-frequency Corona Generator, High-voltage Transformers, Rotary Electrodes, Ozone Filter and customised stand-alone or bench-top corona treating station.
